Czech Memorial Scroll

Temple Brith Sholom is the proud host of a Czech Torah Scroll. This Torah was written c.1750 and is one of 23 sent to Prague from Vlasim in Bohemia, most of which were collected from small surrounding communities during the Holocaust. It is one of 1564 scrolls bought from the Czech government by Ralph Yablon z”l who donated them to the Westminster Synagogue in London in 1964. The Memorial Scroll Trust was set up as an independent charity to care for the scrolls and we received MST#396 in 1971.
